The Fiji International golf tournament tees off this morning, promising to be bigger, bolder and better.
Seven PGA Tour winners are among the playing field at Natadola Bay, while eight Fijians are vying for hometown support, including former world number one Vijay Singh.
Singh has finished in the top ten in the previous two editions of the Fiji International but is still seeking his maiden pro victory on home soil.
The Lautoka‑born 53-year-old says he is striking the ball well, even if recent scores do not show it, and hopefully this can be his year.
Another local hope is Sam Lee, who finished 26th at the Natadola Bay Championship Course last year.
The 26-year-old made his professional debut last year and has spent much of 2016 at home reshaping his game.
The tournament gets underway bright and early this morning at the Natadola Bay Championship Course, with Vijay Singh's brother Krishna Singh among the first to tee off.
