The Fiji Football Association continues to assist players affected by COVID-19 as they distributed food packs to players of the Ba Men’s and Women’s teams.

The distribution is being led by Fiji FA executive board member Naziah Ali Krishna and Fiji soccer captain Roy Krishna.

Krishna says the restrictions came right in the middle of the Digicel Women’s Super League and the Digicel Premier League so it has negatively impacted players who solely rely on football for their livelihood. She says because of this Fiji Football has dug into its coffers to assist players despite also suffering from the lack of football activity in the country.

Krishna says players are integral to the organization and it is important that they support them.

She adds some of the players are the sole breadwinners of their families and it is important that they step up and be there for them during this crisis.

Krishna says Fiji Football has given food packages to both men and women footballers of equal value showing that equal priority to women footballers.

Ba Women’s rep Koleta Likuculacula says there are some of the girls who depend on football and has thanked Fiji FA for thinking about the women footballers in this challenging times.

The senior division men’s and women’s teams will also be assisted with food rations after the completion of the Premier Division by next week.
