The Fiji Airways Men's National 7s team will not take any game lightly as they approach the second day of the Hong Kong 7s.

Coach Gareth Baber says Russia will come out firing after seeing some upsets yesterday as Spain defeated Australia 17‑12.

Baber believes all teams have done their homework and will be throwing everything at them.

Baber says he is happy with the performance of the team in their first game against Samoa earlier this morning.

Baber says he was pleased with the way the team displayed pace and power.

He adds that they could have been a bit tidier at times when they did not have the ball but it's the first game, and it is a win.

Fiji beat Samoa 31‑12.

Semi Kunatani, Isake Katonibau featured for the national side as Fiji aims to win the Hong Kong 7s title four years in a row.

The national side scored five tries thorugh Eroni Sau, Kalione Nasoko, Vatemo Ravouvou, Amenoni Nasilasila and Semi Kunatani.

Fiji was leading 17‑0 at halftime as Samoa came back with two tries in the second half.

Meanwhile New Zealand and South Africa both showcased their strength with a 36‑5 and 45‑0 victories over Russia and South Korea respectively.

Fiji will play Russia at 5.54 this afternoon and then take on New Zealand at 9.54 tonight.

The quarterfinals will be held at 2.15pm tomorrow, semifinals will start at 7.41pm tomorrow while the final will be held at 11pm.
