The Vodafone Fiji 7s team had their captain’s run earlier today and the team is expected to be named later today after coach Gareth Baber has one on one sessions with the players.
Speaking from Sydney, Coach Gareth Baber says the aim is to continue to build on the performance from the tournament last week and how they can improve as a team.
Baber says it is important that the players remain fresh and focused on the task at hand.
The team had a break from training yesterday and took a boat ride to Manly.
The side is expected to be led by Osea Kolinisau, with Jerry Tuwai, Jasa Veremalua, Vatemo Ravouvou and Joeli Lutumailagi to be named as well.
Meanwhile hosts Australia have named their team for tomorrow’s Sydney 7s.
Youngster Henry Hutchison headlines the side with the likes of James Stannard, Sam Myers and Alex Gibbon.
Fiji will play Samoa in their first game at 11.36am tomorrow, their second game is against Wales at 2.42pm and the final pool match is against France at 8.29pm tomorrow.
The Gold Medal Quarter Finals will start at 12.58pm Sunday, the semis will start at 4.53pm while the final will kick off at 7.51pm.
Barring any upsets Fiji may meet New Zealand, Scotland or Australia in the quarter final.
