The Fiji Rugby Union Awards Night which was scheduled to be held at the Novotel Hotel in Lami tonight has been postponed.
CEO John O’Connor says the event has been put to a later date which is the 14th of next month and will still be held at the Novotel Entertainment Centre.
He says the decision was made after discussions with the Disaster Management Office and considering the adverse weather conditions.
O’Connor says a lot of work has gone into making the Awards Night a huge success and they were on track to have a wonderful night of celebrating Fiji’s Best in Rugby.
He says unfortunately, the one thing we cannot control is the weather and it would be a shame to have Awards Night dampened, literally, by the torrential rains.
He says the Awards Night is an evening promised to be a spectacular one with Awards being given out for Players of the Year from Primary & Secondary Schools, 7s Male & Female, 15s Male & Female, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year and Rugby Administrator of the Year.
The Vodafone Choice Awards also allows for Vodafone customers to vote for their favourites with the most popular personality winning a Samsung S7 phone as well as being awarded for most votes in the categories of Vodafone Flying Fijians, Vodafone Fiji 7s Team, Telecom Fijiana, Domestic Competition and Best Coach.
