England wing Tommy Freeman wants to make Sevu Reece’s life a misery

England wing Tommy Freeman wants to make Sevu Reece’s life a misery after the All Blacks flyer professed to being unaware of who he was ahead of their meeting in the tests in July.

Before England’s 16-15 first test defeat by New Zealand in July, Reece said he didn’t really know much about them” in reference to Freeman and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso.

He added that they have seen them carry on from their World Cup and they go to their high balls a lot and they are ready for that, which would suggest that the 27-year-old had seen nothing of England’s attacking transformation since the World Cup.

All Blacks wing Sevu Reece played both tests against England when they toured New Zealand in July.

Steve Borthwick’s team could not quite make the All Blacks pay for their lack of homework, coming up short in Dunedin and in the second test in Auckland where they lost 24-17 despite both Freeman and Feyi-Waboso scoring tries from Marcus Smith cross-field kicks.

Asked if Reece will now be aware of their threat, Freeman says he’s not fussed if they do or don’t to be honest.

Freeman says hopefully if he can make Reece’s game a misery it’s a win for him and that will make the All Blacks winger remember him potentially.

England have also experienced several near-misses against the All Blacks on home soil, losing 24-21 in 2014 and 16-15 in 2018, as well as drawing 25-25 in 2022.

Their last victory against New Zealand at Twickenham – which will host its first men’s international as the newly renamed Allianz Stadium on Sunday (local time)– was 12 years ago when Manu Tuilagi ran riot in a 38-21 victory under Stuart Lancaster.

England host the All Blacks at 3.10am this Sunday.
