England down Wallabies 25-7 after second half surge

England have finished strongly to take down the Wallabies 25-7 at Twickenham.

The visitors struggled to deal with the high ball as the hosts took their chances to secure the victory.

Harry Potter gave the Wallabies hope as his intercept reduced the margin to three heading into half-time.

However, the hosts were too strong, scoring three straight tries to secure the win and effectively shut down any hopes of a comeback.

England were in control in the first half as they built an early lead.

George Ford slotted the first points of the afternoon before the fly-half delivered a perfect bomb to set up the opener.

Ford’s kick landed in the arms of Tom Roebuck, who drew the fullback for Ben Earl as the number eight raced away for a 10-0 lead.

With the Wallabies searching for an answer, up stepped Harry Potter.

Potter produced a remarkable defensive play to stop Earl from getting a second, holding the back-rower up over the line.

The winger then snatched an intercept in the 32nd minute, racing 90 metres to reduce the margin to 10-7 at the break.

The Wallabies hunted for the lead, but couldn't find their way through a staunch English defence,

Their experienced bench would prove the difference as they ran away with the contest.

It started with Henry Pollock as the back-rower capitalised on another high ball win to race away, evading the ankle tap from Andrew Kellaway to cross.

Scrumhalf Alex Mitchell extended the lead as he dived for the line with ten minutes to go, finding the chalk to seal the win.

A dominant performance from the English was capped off by a dominant rolling maul try that started outside their 22 and was finished off by Luke Cowan-Dickie.
