England survived second-half pressure to beat Wales 12‑6 and maintain their unbeaten start to the Six Nations rugby championships this morning.

Two first-half tries to left-wing Jonny May gave Eddie Jones' England 12‑3 halftime lead at Twickenham.

Warren Gatland's Welsh team had the better of the second half, shutting England out.

But, for all their enterprising play, they could not break England's ironclad defence.

England coach Eddie Jones who is bidding for a record third consecutive Six Nations title ‑ described the match as an "arm wrestle" and was proud of his side's resilience against "a very tough Wales side".

In another match this morning, Ireland thrashed Italy 56-19 while Scotland will take on France at 3am tomorrow.
