Manchester City retained their slender one-point advantage at the top of the English Premier League table as they fought out a classic 2 all draw with closest rivals Liverpool at Etihad Stadium.

The meeting between the two outstanding sides lived up to its pre-match billing and in the end there was nothing to separate them, with the destination of the title still hanging in the balance with seven games remaining.

Kevin de Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus scored a goal each for City while Liverpool’s goals were scored by Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

A goal by City’s Raheem Sterling while their substitute, Riyad Mahrez wasted a chance to win it in the dying seconds as the ball flew over the top.

City leads the table with 74 points, Liverpool has 73 points while Chelsea, in third place has 62 points.

In other matches this morning, Brentford beat West Ham 2-0, Leicester beat Crystal Palace 2-1 while Norwich beat Burnley 2-0.
