The Dreketi soccer team caused a major upset when they defeated Ba 2‑1 in the Vodafone Premier League at Govind Park last night.
Dreketi took an early lead in the first half before Ba equalized.
Both teams were locked one-all at half time.
Apisai Sesewa scored the winner for Dreketi in the second half.
The win has done Dreketi a huge favor in terms of staying in the Premier division next year as they now need a draw against Nadi to confirm their place for next year.
Ba who needed a draw to win the league title will now have to wait till tomorrow when they play Labasa.
The scenario remains the same for the Ba side as a draw in that game will be enough for them to secure the league title.
In another match last night, Lautoka thrashed Suva 9‑1.
In today’s matches, Nadroga will face Rewa at 2pm while Nadi will play Labasa at 4pm.
Both matches will be played at Prince Charles Park.
