Discussions are currently underway with the Government for Fiji to host the first Pacific Games for children with special needs.
Chairperson of Special Olympics Fiji Bishwa Sidal says the discussions follow the success of Iliesa Delana in the Paralympics and the Special Athletics last year.
Meanwhile 6 countries have already confirmed their participation for the event which include American Samoa, PNG, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Solomon Islands and Fiji while Australia will also be invited.
Sidal says that they are hoping to hold the event in November 2017.
Meanwhile, the 2016 National Games for Special and Unified Athletes will begin this Thursday and end on Friday.
