Devo Babas ready to defend Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s title

Devo Babas ready to defend Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s title

Defending champions Devo Babas are gearing up for another strong campaign as they prepare to defend their title at the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s in Taveuni this weekend.

Team manager and founder, Isoa Natui says that although a few players have suffered injuries, it has not shaken their determination.

Natui says missing the Yalovata 7s last week allowed the team to regroup and prepare thoroughly for Wairiki.

He adds that the heart of the Devo Babas’ mission goes beyond rugby.

Natui says the team was founded to give young people from the village an opportunity to better their lives and support their families back home.

The founder saya many players who joined the Devo Babas have gone on to secure stable careers, including roles in the police force, military, corrections, and even overseas rugby clubs.

The Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s will run from Thursday to Saturday at Wairiki in Taveuni.
