A desperate Chiefs team is a dangerous beast, particularly one which will still be embarrassed to the core by the record 57‑28 thrashing they received from the Crusaders in Christchurch in Round 4.

The Hamilton‑based franchise must topple the reigning champions in Fiji tonight to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Stuff.co.nz reports two players to look out for are Brad Weber and Anton Lienert‑Brown who were two of the first few names Crusaders coach Scott Robertson mentioned when analysing the Chiefs' main threats.

Because halfback Weber and midfielder Lienert‑Brown have this season been dynamite for the Chiefs.

Weber will start in his 70th appearance for the Chiefs tonight.

Fly‑half Jack Debreczeni will start at 10 moving Marty McKenzie to the bench in jersey number 22.

Anton Lienert‑Brown returns from All Blacks leave to start at inside centre

Robertson who has only overseen four defeats since taking over the Crusaders in 2017 has guided the Crusaders to five‑consecutive wins against the Chiefs including a narrow 31‑24 victory in Suva in 2017.

The Chiefs host the Crusaders at 7.35 tonight at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The Hurricanes play the Jaguares at 1.05am tomorrow.
