Having caught the eye of Blues coach Tana Umaga, former NZ 7s rep Ambrose Curtis is hoping he will finally get his chance to crack Super Rugby and prove his credentials in the 15‑man form of the game.
After missing the Super Rugby selection when squads were revealed last month, the 24‑year‑old was lapping up the chance to prove he deserves a more permanent deal.
His current deal finishes at the end of January, but that could change if there are further injuries or he can prove to Umaga that he can be an important contributor to the Blues' campaign.
Working in Curtis' favour is that he has already put a good foot forward under Umaga with the New Zealand Maori team.
