The Crusaders will meet the Hurricanes in the Super Rugby semifinals next Saturday in Christchurch after defeating the Sharks 40-10 last night.
Despite failing to play their best rugby in Christchurch on Saturday, the defending champion Crusaders were always in control in their quarter‑final.
They now take a step closer to their ninth title.
The Crusaders will meet the Hurricanes at 7.35pm next Saturday.
The second semifinal will see the Waratahs take on the Lions in Johannesburg.
This is after the Waratahs defeated the Highlanders 30-23 and the Lions beat the Jaguares 40-23.
The Waratahs will meet the Lions at 1.05am next Sunday in Johannesburg.
