Super Rugby defending champions the Crusaders has defeated the Hurricanes 34‑19 in their pre-season match.
Fiji born Crusaders winger Manasa Mataele scored two tries.
Both teams were missing a number of their All Blacks stars for this warm-up match.
The Hurricanes could not deal with the pressure from the Crusaders who held the upper hand in most departments, particularly at set pieces and the breakdown.
Both coaches were happy that there were no injuries.
Meanwhile, the Blues defeated the Chiefs 43-10 in their warm-up match
