Aaron Cruden is set to make his return from a groin injury through provincial rugby.
The All Blacks first five‑eighth has made himself available for the Manawatu Turbos for their final regular season match against Otago in Palmerston North on Friday.
It is a big boost for the province who need to win the match to confirm a top‑four finish in the national provincial championship, otherwise they will be sweating on the results of other matches.
Cruden has been sidelined since the All Blacks' test against Argentina on September 10th.
His groin injury meant he did not travel with the All Blacks for their tests in Argentina and South Africa.
But now he has recovered, the 27‑year‑old is looking to force his way back on the All Blacks' bench for their next test against the Wallabies at Eden Park next Saturday.
