NRL premiership favourites the Melbourne Storm are at the centre of a fresh new wrestling controversy, with claims three North Queensland players suffered neck injuries in their recent finals loss to the Storm.
The Daily Telegraph revealed that the Cowboys are privately demanding answers from the NRL.
It is understood that if North Queensland do not get a satisfactory response in the coming days this could blow up into a major dispute on the eve of the grand final qualifiers this weekend.
It comes after revelations the Cowboys had sent an official complaint to the NRL over a tackle that left Ethan Lowe without feeling in his hands and feet.
It is known that two other players also reported neck complaints after the game but not as severe as Lowe who will have spinal surgery this week.
It is understood the 25‑year‑old still does not have full feeling in his hands and feet more than a week after the game.
Meanwhile Suliasi Vunivalu and Marika Koroibete are expected to feature for the Storm this weekend.
The Storm will host the Raiders at 9.40pm Saturday while the Sharks will host the Cowboys at 9.55pm Friday.
