Chiefs too strong for Bulls

Chiefs too strong for Bulls

The injury‑stricken Chiefs have battled their way to a 41‑28 Super Rugby win over the Bulls in Hamilton last night.

The Bulls proved unstoppable in the first half, leading 28‑14 at the break, but the Chiefs kept the South Africans scoreless in the second spell as they ran in four tries.

Winger Warrick Gelant opened the scoring for the Bulls after just three minutes, but the early lead disappeared five minutes later when Johnny Fa'auli finished off a storming Chiefs move.

The Bulls were relentless in the opening 30 minutes, pounding the Chiefs' line and dominating territory and possession.

In other matches tonight, the Crusaders will play the Highlanders at 6.35 tonight, the Brumbies will play the Sharks at 8.45pm.

The Stormers meet the Blues at 1.05am tomorrow, the Lions meet the Sunwolves at 3.15am, the Reds play the Jaguares at 9.40am Sunday while the Waratahs play the Rebels at 5.05pm tomorrow.
