Charlie Ngatai on attack

The Chiefs are in no hurry to rush Charlie Ngatai back into the brunt of the firing line.

The utility played 24 minutes off the bench upon his return from a knee injury against the Highlanders last weekend after missing the past three games.

Chiefs coach Colin Cooper says they're still yet to make a decision on how much involvement Ngatai will have in this week's game against the Blues.

And a couple of unsung heroes in the Chiefs forward pack are continuing to impress the coach.

Fringe players Aidan Ross and Angus Ta'avao have become the Chiefs' first choice prop pairing for much of the Super Rugby season following injuries to All Blacks Kane Hames and Nepo Laulala.

The Chiefs play the Blues at 7.35pm Saturday in Hamilton.
