Wallabies coach Michael Cheika is convinced Cooper Cronk could make it in rugby union and is all for the NSW Waratahs making a play for rugby league's dual Dally M Medallist.
The superstar halfback will leave the Melbourne Storm at season's end after pledging his future to his Sydney‑based fiance ‑ but is yet to find an NRL club that either wants him and can also afford him.
The Waratahs are said to be interested in Cronk where he could join former Storm, Maroons and Kangaroos teammate Israel Folau.
In Super Rugby matches this week, the Blues meet the Cheetahs at 7.35pm tomorrow, the Lions clash with the Brumbies at 9.45pm tomorrow, the Crusaders meet the Hurricanes at 7.35pm Saturday and the Bulls meet the Highlanders at 1.05am Sunday.
