Fijian born and former New Zealand 7s player Tomasi Cama Jnr will not contest the national coaching position.
Cama believes he still has a lot to learn in coach a national team but has been appointed to take a full time role in New Zealand’s managements team before they appoint their new coach.
The first round of the men's world series is on next month and Cama and Stu Ross are likely to run the programme and training camps until they have a new coach.
Cama was a long‑time New Zealand men's player and has been spoken about as a replacement for Tietjens.
He believes he still has things to learn in coaching.
Cama has coached the Manawatu mens team for the past three seasons.
