The Fiji Bula Boys have lost their chance to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 after being thrashed 7-0 by New Zealand’s All Whites in the semi-final of the Oceania Qualifier in Wellington this evening.

New Zealand captain Chris Wood, who plays for English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, scored three goals for his team.

Sarpreet Singh, Tyler Bindon, Tim Payne, and Kosta Barbarouses each scored a goal for the All Whites.

The Bula Boys almost grabbed a consolation but were denied by the post, as Christopher Wasasala’s effort beat Max Crocombe but not the woodwork.

New Zealand will meet New Caledonia, who beat Tahiti 2-0, in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers in Auckland on Monday.
