Rugby league fans are gearing up for a blockbuster clash as the Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm face off tonight in the NRL Grand Final, a rematch nearly two decades in the making.

According to ABC Sports, the last time these two powerhouses met on the grand final stage was in 2006, when the Broncos clinched the premiership with a 15-8 victory.

The match also marks the last time Brisbane lifted the trophy, making it the club’s longest premiership drought in history.

The Storm, on the other hand, come into the final with more recent success, having won the NRL title in 2020.

Both teams have had an evenly matched season so far, with one win each in their two previous meetings this year, setting the stage for a tightly contested decider.

Meanwhile, off the field, fans can expect a high-energy show with Grammy-winning artist Teddy Swims set to headline the grand final entertainment.

Swims, who recently had to cancel some performances due to illness, has confirmed his appearance and will bring his soulful vocals to the big stage. As anticipation builds, fans from both sides will be hoping for a historic night, whether it’s the Broncos breaking their long-standing drought or the Storm cementing their modern-era dominance. The NRL Grand Final clash between the Melbourne Storm and the Broncos is at 8.30 tonight.
