The Black Ferns defeated Ireland 40-0 at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in England, securing top spot in Pool C.

Teenager Braxton Sorensen-McGee shone again, scoring her second consecutive hat-trick.

Stuff.com stated that despite injuries to props Chryss Viliko and Tanya Kalounivale, the team produced a strong defensive effort, keeping an opponent scoreless for the first time in 11 tests and only the fourth time in five years.

In the quarter final, the Black Ferns will take on South Africa at midnight on Sunday.

In other quarter finals, Canada takes on Australia at 3am on Sunday, France faces Ireland at midnight on Monday while England takes on Scotland at 3am on Monday.
