Ben Ryan is being lined up for a role in the French sevens team for the 2017-2018 HSBC Sevens World Series.
The former Fiji Sevens Head Coach who brought Fiji their first Olympic Gold Medal at the Rio Olympics has been out of the rugby scene since he left Fiji.
It is understood that Ryan is being brought into the French sevens set up to work with Les Blues with an eye on the 7s World Cup in San Francisco next year.
As coach of Fiji, Ryan won 9 tournaments and the 2014-15 World Series, and unforgettably delivered Fiji their first Olympic Gold Medal at the Rio Olympics defeating Great Britain 43-7.
Meanwhile Gareth Baber has begun preparations with thirty players in the Vodafone Fiji 7s squad starting camp today in Sigatoka including Jerry Tuwai, Jasa Veremalua, Amenoni Nasilasila, Vatemo Ravouvou, Apisai Domolailai, Samisoni Viriviri and Sevuloni Mocenacagi as Baber aims to develop stronger relationships between new and old players in the squad ahead of the 2017/2018 World Sevens Series.
