Former flying Fijians flyhalf Seremaia Bai is now starting a Rugby Academy to help mold young talent and develop them for better opportunities with overseas clubs.
With no current financial backing at the moment, the 37-year-old says he is embarking on this new project because of his passion to give back to the younger generation and also Fiji.
Bai says he has developed contacts with clubs he has played in overseas and is also working with rugby agencies that want well developed Fijian rugby players.
He has also revealed plans to privatise the rugby academy at Lelean Memorial School saying he has been provided an old gym which he will renovate into a High Performance Unit.
The former Lelean Memorial School student says the academy would also focus on financial literacy for rugby players.
Bai says as someone who has played overseas he has seen many Fijian players struggle financially after their rugby careers and this is why the financial literacy program is important.
The Rugby Academy will be for both men and women.
