Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber was pleased with the performance of the new players in the Fiji Barbarians team despite losing to Australia in the Oktoberfest 7s this morning.
Baber says they still need a lot of work on their defence but is happy with their performance.
The Fiji Barbarians was thumped 40-7 by the Aussies this morning but manage to take some positives out from the tournament.
Meanwhile speaking from Munich, Germany this morning, Fiji Barbas coach Saiasi Fuli says they did not execute their game plan well in the final.
18 players who were not picked for the Oktoberfest 7s will be prepared for the next tournament where Barber will continue to build and develop new players who needed more game time.
He believes this is a bonus for the players and has provided tougher competition within the team before the World Sevens Series.
The next tournament is the Central Coast 7s in Australia which will be held from the 27th to the 29th of this month before the Silicon Valley 7s which will be held from the 5th to the 6th of next month.
