Chaos erupted at the Nasova boxing ring after the 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Boxing Competition when Police were mistakenly declared champions, only for officials to later confirm that Army were the actual winners.

When fijivillage News approached an official from the Boxing Commission of Fiji, they confirmed there had been an error but declined to comment further.

Army Head Coach Alfred Ledua says they won overall and had drawn with Police in gold and silver medals. He explains that Army secured nine bronze medals, while Police collected five.

The coach claims that the confusion arose during the announcement of the results by the Manager of Police Saimoni Bebenisala, which led to the commotion.

The Army camp later confirmed their victory after the clarification, thanking supporters and their team for the effort.

The coach adds that the win reflects their belief in staying humble before God, and they credit the Lord for lifting them to victory.

Army and Police were drawn with 4 gold and silver, while Army had 9 bronze and Police 5.

In the finals, the Police team won several weight divisions in the 55–60 kg Jone Davule, 60–65 kg Ben Williams, 70–75 kg Nesta Kolitapa, and 80–90 kg+ Buli Colavanua.

Army recorded victories in the 65–70 kg category Pita Nasorowaqa, 75–80 kg Aminiasi Saraitabu, 80–85 kg Mosese Ranuve, and 85–90 kg Tomu Vulo.
