410 families of football players and officials affected by COVID-19 and TC Harold have received assistance worth more than $66,000 from the Oceania Football Confederation and Fiji Football Association through their solidarity funding packages.

Punjas Group of Companies has also provided food items to these families.

The solidarity funding packages includes food items, essential items and building materials.

Fiji FA’s Social Responsibility Department Manager, Lavenia Yalovi says they have distributed 190 packages in the Western Division, 143 in the Southern Division and 24 packages in the Northern Division.

She says those who have missed the first round of assistance will have to apply for the second round of distribution.

Rewa Soccer Captain, Setareki Hughes says they are happy to have this support from Fiji FA as they faced difficulties because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says this assistance will also help them to prepare well for the upcoming tournaments.

Nasinu Team Manager, Suresh Chand says times are hard and the packages will cater for the needs of their families.
