The Pacific Games Council has confirmed that three countries have shown their interest in hosting the 2019 Pacific Games after the Tongan government withdrew its support as hosts.
Council Chairman Vidhya Lakhan says three countries are Guam, Samoa and Tahiti.
Lakhan says Guam, Samoa and Tahiti have almost all of the facilities they needed for the games.
He says the Pacific Games Council Board will now evaluate the Expression of Interest thoroughly, and if necessary they will have to visit the countries to evaluate their facilities, have talks with the sports personnel and the political Leaders in each country before selecting the next host for the 2019 Pacific Games.
Meanwhile, FASANOC has reiterated its stand that Fiji will not be expressing an interest in hosting the 2019 Pacific Games.
