Ahead of their test against Tonga this Friday, Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne says they need to stay focused on what they want to achieve and shut out the outside noise.

Byrne says they have to make sure that the team understands what they have to do on the day.

The coach also highlighted that their squad is currently made up of 28 players.

He says when you look at the backs and forwards combinations it is a very small squad with maybe one or two spare backs.

Byrne says it is not like they have four or five players sitting on the sideline as everyone is getting used.

He says there are a couple of players with niggling injuries that they are keeping an eye on and keeping them away from contact training.

Fiji plays Tonga in their round 3 Asahi Dry Pacific Nations Cup at 3pm Friday in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga.

Japan play the USA at 10.05pm Saturday.
