The France U20 side has defeated defending champions New Zealand 16-7 in the semi finals of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship and will now take on England in the final.

This is the first time France have reached the Under 20 title decider in the history of the premier age‑grade competition.

Former Fiji Under 18 player and Marist Brothers High School student, Kaliopasi Uluilakepa and Vilimoni Koroi featured for the New Zealand team.

The French team managed to score one converted try with 3 penalties while New Zealand’s try and conversion came from Harry Plummer.

Meanwhile, the England Under‑20s defeated the Junior Springboks 32‑31 to reach their sixth‑consecutive World Rugby Under20 Championship final.

Steve Bates’ side led 22‑7 at the break with tries from Tom Parton, Tom Hardwick, Ben White and seven points from the boot of Marcus Smith, while South Africa responded with Sazi Sandi converted score.

England sealed victory through Jordan Olowofela's converted score, although South Africa did score tries from Muller Uys, Ruan Nortje, Manuel Rass and Asenathi Ntlabakanye to narrow the deficit in a thrilling second half.
