The Fijian Community in Townsville is organising a traditional welcome for the Vodafone Fiji Bati as they touch down today ahead of Saturday's match against USA in the Rugby League World Cup.
The Bati have completed their four day camp in Brisbane and are ready to play their first game.
Bati captain Kevin Naiqama is confident Fiji players will be turning heads in their rugby‑mad home during their 2017 Rugby League World Cup campaign.
Naiqama says rugby union has a heavy presence in Fiji and they are happy to see that rugby league is also growing.
The Bati will arrive at Townsville Airport at 1pm.
They will take on USA at 9.40pm Saturday.
