Fiji suffered a 5-2 defeat to the unbeaten Solomon Islands Kurukuru in front of a lively home crowd at Vodafone Arena in their OFC Men’s Futsal Cup clash.

Despite a strong start from Fiji, the Solomon Islands took control with a goal from Jayroll Patty and two from Calvin Do’oro.

The visitors were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Owen Bunabo and Alvin Hou added to the tally in the second half, capitalising on defensive errors as the Kurukuru maintained their dominance.

Fiji scored twice late through Nikil Chand and Filipe Baravilala, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the result.

In today’s matches, the Solomon Islands will face Vanuatu at 4pm, while Fiji take on Tuvalu at 7pm.
