Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau has confirmed that the team for the first leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS World Series will be announced after the Fiji Bitter Mataso 7s this Saturday.

Kolinisau says that selection will depend on players' performance over the two-day tournament.

He says the Mataso 7s, which is renowned for showcasing top-tier local rugby talent, provides an ideal platform for players to prove their readiness for national duty.

He adds that the coaching team will closely monitor player performances as they work to assemble a squad capable of excelling on the international sevens stage.

Kolinisau says this is an important opportunity for them to see the talent on display and assess the players' readiness.

The Fiji Bitter Mataso Nakorovou 7s will be held this Friday and Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The Dubai 7s will be held from the 31st of this month to the 1st of December, while the Cape Town 7s will be held from the 7th to the 8th of December.
