He was just in class two when his father passed away in 2002.
12 years later Aminiasi Naituyaga Junior has been named in the Vodafone Fiji Under 20 side to participate in the Junior Rugby World Cup next month.
The 19 year old from Korotogo village in Nadroga is the son and namesake of former national rep, the late Aminiasi “The Steelman” Naituyaga.
Naituyaga Junior is a flanker just like his late father, and he plays for the Nadroga Under 20 side.
Naituyaga Junior said he hopes to carry on his late father’s legacy.
The side has four overseas based players and will be captained by former Marist Brothers High School student Akuila Tabualevu who was also part of the squad last year.
Fiji is pooled with France, Ireland and Wales in the Junior World Cup which will be held in New Zealand from the 2nd to the 20th of next month.
