Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and National Federation Party MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua has made it clear that she will be voting against the Constitution Amendment Bill at its third reading, in accordance with the NFP’s directive.
In a statement sent to fijivillage News, Qereqeretabua says her position has not changed.
She says she remains committed to the NFP’s decision and will act accordingly when the Bill comes before Parliament.
In an interview with fijivillage News earlier this week, Qereqeretabua said the party believes more time is needed to consider the proposed Constitution Bill.
She said the process should not be rushed, arguing that Fiji should not replace a Constitution imposed on the country by imposing another without allowing sufficient time for proper consideration.
