As the students and teachers of Baulevu High School celebrate Diwali, school Principal Vishnu Deo Sharma is encouraging students to embrace the true meaning of Deepawali by pursuing academic excellence, practising discipline and making ethical decisions in their daily lives.
In his Deepawali message, Sharma says the festival symbolises the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair.
He encouraged the students to use the festival as an opportunity to seek knowledge and wisdom while remaining hardworking and committed to their education.
Sharma says just as homes are cleaned before Deepawali, students should also cleanse their minds of negative habits and attitudes.
He encourages students to let their learning be the light that guides their future, stressing that true happiness comes not from material possessions but from good character and meaningful relationships.
Sharma is also reminding parents of their important responsibility as their children's first teachers.
He says parents should create a home environment filled with warmth, understanding and setting positive examples while passing on cultural traditions and moral values to the future generations.
Sharma stresses that the brightest lamp in a child's life is the guidance and love of their parents.
He wishes everyone a happy Deepawali and hopes the festival brings wisdom, goodness, love, peace and lasting happiness to every home.
The students celebrated the festival by performing dance, drama, sweets and lunch distribution.
