Yat Sen Primary School students are stepping up preparations for the school’s 90th anniversary celebrations by showcasing their talents through performances.
The school will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its primary school and the 40th anniversary of its secondary school from the 17th to the 20th of September.
Yat Sen Primary School Assistant Head Teacher Meli Yabakivou says students have formed groups and are putting a lot of effort into preparing their performances.
Yabakivou says some students have hired choreographers to help with their routines, while others are creating their own performances.
He says students are using their spare time to prepare and are looking forward to performing during the celebrations.
Assistant Head Teacher highlights the anniversaries are important milestones in the school’s history.
He says students are also balancing preparations for the celebrations with short tests, rugby and other school activities.
Yabakivou stresses despite their busy schedule, the students remain focused on what they need to do.
He says he is proud of the students for showcasing what Yat Sen has to offer and has also acknowledged the support of parents and former students.
Yat Sen alumna Soeri Rokoiga has also praised the students for the time and effort they are putting into their performances.
Rokoiga says the performances showcase the students’ talents and highlight the multicultural nature of Yat Sen.
Students, staff, parents, alumni and former scholars are expected to be part of the milestone celebrations in September.
