Work permit processing in Fiji is set to become simpler and more streamlined from September 1st, with the Ministry of Immigration removing five administrative requirements from the standard documentation for relevant applications.
Ministry of Immigration confirms the move is part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of immigration services and reduce unnecessary administrative requirements.
Under the new arrangement, applicants will no longer be required to provide a Tripartite Agreement, Advertisement Requirement, Training Plan, Local Understudy Requirement and Application Received Analysis.
The Ministry says the changes will allow officers to focus on the statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to each work permit application.
However, the streamlining does not mean that Fiji’s immigration, security or compliance requirements are being relaxed.
All relevant work permit applications will continue to be assessed in accordance with Fiji’s immigration legislation, as well as applicable policies and procedures.
The Ministry says the changes are aimed at making the work permit process more efficient while maintaining the necessary safeguards and regulatory oversight.
Fiji’s Ministry of Immigration continues to provide work permit services for non-citizens seeking employment in the country.
