Women and youth to drive Fiji’s digital future

Women and youth to drive Fiji’s digital future

Women and young people are the future leaders driving Fiji’s digital transformation, and the Government is aiming to create 40,000 ICT jobs by 2030 through the National Digital Strategy 2025–2030.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, during the Women in Tech Fiji NextGen Oxford-style Tech Debate at the Suva Civic Centre.

Kiran is encouraging young women and students to dream bigger, speak confidently and take their place in Fiji’s growing digital economy.

She also highlighted the Government’s commitment to creating more opportunities in ICT, STEM, cyber security and digital innovation through the National Digital Strategy 2025–2030 and programmes such as TELS.

The event brought together students, mentors and industry leaders to discuss technology, innovation and gender equality, while also creating a safe space for young people to share ideas, challenges and solutions.
