There is confirmation today that a woman died in the fire at Vincent House along Brown Street in Suva yesterday.
Police have confirmed the death this morning however the identity of the woman is unknown at this stage.
Eyewitnesses told fijivillage News that a man was taken out of the building shortly before the flames spread and engulfed parts of the property.
The condition of the elderly man remains unknown at this stage.
Firefighters were quickly deployed to the scene and were able to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage.
