FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Jake White says Isikeli Rabitu has played at fly-half before, including during his school days, and his background in sevens rugby means he understands space and timing on the field.
Speaking from the team's base camp in France earlier this morning, White says Ben Volavola is on the bench, but he wants to explore different combinations at fly-half.
He says if you look at the All Blacks, Damien McKenzie, Richie Mo'unga and Ruben Love can all play at fly-half, highlighting the importance of having options in the position.
White says he wants to explore different types of fly-halves, noting that while Caleb Muntz, Volavola and Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula have their own strengths, Rabitu offers something different.
He says Rabitu is probably not the type of fly-half people expect Fiji to field.
White adds that he has seen different combinations at fly-half over the years and wants to see how Rabitu performs in the position, while also considering Salesi Rayasi as another option at number 10.
