Water supply restored in Kashmir Lautoka after two-day outage

Residents in Kashmir, Lautoka can now breathe a sigh of relief after enduring two days without water, as the supply has now been restored.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Director of Hari Lal Investments, Sanjay Arvin Lal, confirms that water supply was restored late last night, with good water pressure reported since.

Lal says this has been an ongoing issue for the past six months, and while he understands that maintenance work needs to be carried out, he is appealing to the Water Authority of Fiji to assist more proactively during such times.

He adds that he was informed the disruption was due to low water levels in the reservoir but questions how that is possible given the heavy rain over recent weeks.

Lal also highlights that water trucks dispatched during the outage informed residents that only buckets could be filled, not large water tanks.

He stresses the need for authorities to consider the impact on businesses, especially bakeries and restaurants that provide services to the public.
