Wallabies and Queensland Reds number eight Harry Wilson will miss the start of the 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season after undergoing minor surgery on his knee.
Wilson went under the knife on Friday to clean up the knee he injured during the Wallabies' famous win over the Springboks in Johannesburg.
The decision was a collaborative decision between the Reds and Rugby Australia, with Wilson likely to return soon after their Round Two bye.
A statement from the Reds said that Wilson has successfully undergone minor surgery on his right knee.
The statement says Rugby Australia and the Queensland Reds agreed that a clean-up of the knee would guarantee the best longer-term result for a player of such importance and he is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks, having undergone surgery in Brisbane on Friday.
The Reds will kick-off the pre-season games against the Western Force this Thursday.
Their first Super Rugby Pacific match is against the Waratahs on February 13th.
