Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa.
According to reports, Patekar experienced severe chest pain at his home in Goa, prompting a call for medical assistance.
He was reportedly found unconscious when the medical team arrived and was given cardiac massage before being taken to a private hospital.
Doctors at the hospital reportedly declared him dead at around 5.20am Indian Standard Time.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out to determine the medical and legal cause of his death.
Patekar was one of the most respected actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema, known for his powerful dialogue delivery and intense performances.
He became widely known for his roles in films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Tirangaa, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome.
He received three National Film Awards and the Padma Shri during a career spanning several decades.
