Deniz Undav emerged as Germany's hero, scoring a stoppage-time winner as the four-time world champions fought back from a goal down to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup Group E match.
Ivory Coast took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Franck Kessie found the back of the net in the 30th minute.
Germany fought back in the second half, with Undav equalising in the 68th minute after being set up by Nadiem Amiri.
Just when it looked like the match was heading for a draw, Undav struck again in the fourth minute of stoppage time to seal a dramatic victory.
The win strengthens Germany's position in Group E heading into the final round of pool matches.
Germany had opened their World Cup campaign with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Curaçao, while Ivory Coast defeated Ecuador 1-0 in their first match.
Germany are making their 21st FIFA World Cup appearance and are currently ranked 10th in the FIFA World Rankings. Ivory Coast are featuring in their fourth FIFA World Cup and are ranked 41st in the world.
Germany will face Ecuador in their final Group E match next Friday at 8am, while Ivory Coast will take on Curaçao at the same time.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands hammered Sweden 5-1 earlier this morning.
Ecuador will meet Curaçao at 12pm, while Tunisia and Japan will go head-to-head at 4pm.
