Deniz Undav emerged as Germany's hero, scoring a stoppage-time winner as the four-time world champions fought back from a goal down to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup Group E match.

Ivory Coast took a 1-0 lead into halftime after Franck Kessie found the back of the net in the 30th minute.

Germany fought back in the second half, with Undav equalising in the 68th minute after being set up by Nadiem Amiri.

Just when it looked like the match was heading for a draw, Undav struck again in the fourth minute of stoppage time to seal a dramatic victory.

The win strengthens Germany's position in Group E heading into the final round of pool matches.
