Residents of Uciwai Road in Nadi say they are still waiting for a permanent solution to the road conditions, despite the Fiji Roads Authority grading the road last week.
Resident Selema Evans says grading the road has not addressed the community’s main concern, which is the lack of a proper tarsealed road and the dust affecting residents, businesses and school children.
Evans says the FRA graded the road last Monday after fijivillage News raised the residents’ concerns with the authority, but no further work has been carried out to provide a lasting solution.
She says residents have repeatedly raised the same concerns with the FRA over the years, but temporary repairs continue to be carried out.
Evans says the community needs a permanent solution rather than repeated grading and temporary road works.
fijivillage News is continuing to follow up with the Fiji Roads Authority on the delay in providing a permanent solution.
We are awaiting their response.
