16 year old student and 25 year old man drown in two separate incidents

A 16 year old student and a 25 year old man have drowned in two separate incidents.

The first case was reported to Korovou Police and involves a 16-year-old student from Wailevu Village, who went missing while swimming in the Wainibuka River yesterday afternoon.

Search efforts were launched but were unsuccessful.

Police say the search will resume today.

In a separate incident, the body of a 25-year-old man from Nasirotu Village was found in the Waidina River yesterday afternoon.

Vunidawa Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Investigations continue.
